Metal: Hellsinger Nabs Best Audio at Golden Joystick Awards 2022

It has only been a short while since The Outsiders and Funcom unleashed the fury of Metal: Hellsinger onto the masses, but it is clear that the game has struck a chord with plenty of players. With a 97% overwhelmingly positive score on Steam and a strong critical reception, Metal: Hellsinger has now gotten even more recognition, this time with the Best Audio win at the Golden Joystick Awards 2022.

This award comes hot on the heels of a nomination for Best Music and Score from The Game Awards, and the teams at both The Outsiders and Funcom are well aware that all of the success would not be possible without the players and the community.

Music is the galloping heartbeat of Metal: Hellsinger. Slay demons to the beat of the music, shooting, dashing, and performing brutal takedowns. Do it successfully and the layered music becomes more intense, and players can deal more damage. Everything in the world pulsates to the beat, wordlessly ushering the player into the rhythm.

On top of the score being composed by the talented musician duo Two Feathers, legendary vocalists were asked to add their voices to the project. Serj Tankian (System of a Down), Matt Heafy (Trivium), Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy), Randy Blythe (Lamb of God), Tatiana Shmayluk (Jinjer), and more. One by one, they joined, and together, their voices now echo through the eight Hells, setting players’ heads a-banging.

“We are thrilled to be selected as the winners of this award. It has been a pure joy to be a part of creating this game with the incredible development team at The Outsiders, whose talents and hard work made a fun, unique game we know will stay loved by fans for years to come. Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed their talent and skill to the soundtrack and audio experience, and thank you to everyone who voted for us to receive the Best Audio award,” shared Elvira and Nicklas of Two Feathers.

Expect to see more from Metal: Hellsinger, with a free update on the horizon soon.
